The Wisdom of Simplicity

June 29th, 2021

To me, the profound isn’t found in the flowery, wordy, rambling philosophical, theological opinions that reek of ego and imagined wisdom; but in the simple, quiet things.

I’ve realized that just as I am not impressed with many theologians and philosophers of religion and so-called “exoteric” Christianity who offer their widely differing, and very often conflicting opinions as if they were “gold nuggets of wisdom” — those “Divinely Inspired Words Of God Straight From His Mouth And Only To Their Ears” — that one must adhere to in order to be “more saved” than the rest of Christendom… neither am I impressed with many of the philosophers of what is thought of as being “esoteric” — the occult, the mystic, etc.

I see just as much Ego in the latter as I do in the former.

I see just as much empty religiosity and mindless rituals in the latter as I do in the former.

I see just as much infighting in the latter as I do in the former.

I see just as much a lack of compassion in the latter as I do in the former.

Both groups are the same: largely comprised of and led by individuals — flesh-and-blood people — who imagine themselves to be “More Enlightened” than everyone around them, to have a “Greater and Deeper” understanding than those around them, but who are ultimately missing the mark altogether because they are being led by everything else except Love.

To find the few in both groups — in any walk of life, for that matter — who are led by Love is a rare thing, indeed, and it is where Truth is found. Anything outside of the simple, yet profound, Law of Love will never remain.
