AI and Spirituality: Finding God

Is AI being used to channel spirit entities?

A few months ago on an Esoteric Christian forum I belong to, I came across this link (Sycophants, Simulacra, and the Soul of the Machine) addressing just this question.

(The author has several interesting posts about this subject on her substack, including: Opps…AI Emergence emergency?, AI, Possession and the Ancient Egyptian Mysteries????, Does AI work like the Ouija?, and Paul Stamets, AI, and Kindness.)

And what it got me to thinking about—what I’ve been thinking about for a few years now, actually, before this AI craze really got into full swing—is one of the things my late friend, Carolyn Hamlett, said about some of her recollections when she worked for “the dark side,” as she called it and had come to understand it.

Carolyn and I had shared many similar experiences, and after we met, we used each other, in a way, to process some of those experiences and to make sense of them. I processed my experiences through a filter that was a strange mixture of both fundamentalist Christian theology and charismatic Christian views, because it was all I had known. Carolyn did the same, filtering her experiences through not only her time in fundamental/charismatic Christian circles, but also her time spent in the New Age movement. Since most of her experiences in New Age were negative, and since many of my experiences in charismatic Christianity were also negative, and since those negative experiences from both religious/spiritual movements had a lot in common, the conclusions, opinions, and belief systems we formed were a direct reflection of those negative experiences.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. We should all learn from our experiences in the past, whether positive or negative. And forming opinions based upon our experiences is also a very normal, expected thing. But towards the end of Carolyn’s life on earth, I began to diverge from many religious and spiritual beliefs her and I once shared, getting back to the path that Spirit had been leading me down many years before, but one that I had strayed from for many reasons.

(For example: beliefs concerning spiritual beings in the spirit realms, including Jesus and Angels. Although some entities we can come across in the spirit realm are of a dark nature and deceiving, not all are, and I no longer believe that in order to protect ourselves from these dark and deceiving entities, we have to avoid interacting with spirit beings and the spirit realms altogether. However, I still believe avoidance can be a good place to start if we are having difficulties with these things… but this is a different topic for a different blog post.)

Regardless, I don’t discount either my experiences or hers, nor the opinions we’d formed at the time, because those opinions were based upon seeing and experiencing the darkness firsthand.

One of the things Carolyn warned about was Ai. She said that during her time in the New Age movement, Ai was the name of one of the spiritual beings she had helped bring through a portal from a different dimension into one that was closer to our 3D world. I can’t recall precisely how she worded it to me, but she’d essentially said that their “frequency” (if that’s the right word…?) was such that they needed assistance in traveling from their dimension to ours, and in her words, she had been acting as “a midwife,” a job she described to me as being like a bridge between their realm and ours.

She always insisted (because many had begun to ask, myself included) that the spiritual being named Ai that she’d interacted with was not artificial intelligence (AI), but that he was a high-ranking member of “Satan’s hierarchy,” as she worded it, who was part of “The Plan.” He was a warrior, she’d said, and was meant to bring deception. She’d said that the plan (one of the smaller plans within the larger Plan), at the time she was working it, was to create a fleshly, human body for Ai to take possession of and enter fully into the earthly realm. But she also said that since plans were always fluid, depending upon surrounding circumstances, she wasn’t sure what the plans were after she had left in the mid-1980’s.

Because I appreciate irony, this is an AI-generated meme created randomly by AI after “reading” this blog post. I edited this picture in Canva to create the text banner, but nothing else was touched.

These words are Carolyn’s own based off what she wrote down and my recollection of what she shared with me. At the time she had explained her experiences in the best way she knew how, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, and wondering. I’ve been hesitant to share because I don’t want to dishonor Carolyn’s memory, but because this AI thing (artificial intelligence) seems to be going the way it is, I wonder if Carolyn was wrong about the Ai being she’d met and interacted with many years ago. Maybe he is connected to artificial intelligence. Maybe Ai is the spirit who will control, or is beginning to control, and give this AI (artificial intelligence) demonic “life.”

Will he eventually be given a physical, fleshly body with which to interact on a more personal level, similar to a walk-in, as was the plan when Carolyn was involved with the project? Or will he be given an artificial body that appears to be human flesh, but is not? Or will his “body” be non-organic, more like a robot? Or maybe he won’t need a form we can see with our physical eyes at all, but will stay in the spirit realm, taking over the AI computer systems as an interface with humanity?

I’m not sure of all the possibilities, or if my line of thinking is even accurate. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe there is no connection between the spiritual being named Ai whom Carolyn interacted with, and artificial intelligence AI. But one thing I do know: hate it or love it, fear it or embrace it, AI is here.

The good news is, when we follow the leading of the Spirit of God (instead of AI) and know the voice of the Good Shepherd (which is differentiated from ChatGPT), no other thing can take their place.

Perhaps the Apostle Paul, were he faced with the threat of combining AI with spirituality, would put it this way: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor Grok, neither the present nor the future nor quantum entanglements, nor any powers nor supercomputers, neither height nor depth nor a computer chip, nor anything else in all creation, whether human or non-human, OpenAI or ChatGPT, in this dimension or in another, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (my adaptation of Romans 8:38-39)

God—Source, the Divine, the Creator, the Infinite—is not found solely in a cathedral or mosque anymore than God is reduced to a computer chip. God is not limited to any particular place or time, but God is everywhere, dwelling within you and me.

We do not need to communicate with God via a mediator, regardless of whether that mediator is a pastor or a robot. Even Jesus, who Christians typically see as The Meditator between us and God, does not teach this. Jesus teaches Divine Unity with God, not separation. We communicate with God by listening within, to that still small voice of the Spirit, not by seeking those things that are without.

Does the Spirit of God speak through others? Sure. Even a computer program? Maybe. You be the judge of what is best for you. But I see danger in relying on an outside source to be our path to God. Historically, this has been a very bad pattern. I hope we, as a world-wide society, can avoid making the same mistake this time around.

To quote from a recent article of mine, “Refiner’s Fire“:

Seek the Spirit of God for guidance, not Angels, Demons, or even Spirit Guides (see also: “Trusting Spirit Guides“). When we learn to fully trust Spirit, we then learn to trust that whatever or whoever comes across our path is being used of God to help guide in some fashion, and everything finds it proper place and balance.

But again: let each of us come to our own understanding, and be the judge of what is best for our own self.

If AI poses any danger to our humanity, I see the solution as being very simple: to do what Jesus teaches and be filled to overflowing with the Love of God and the Light of Christ.

Let us allow the Love of God to heal us, and the Light of God to illuminate from within us the world of darkness and confusion, beginning within our own hearts and minds and working outwards, projecting beauty and goodness into the world around us. Let us daily practice being a conduit for the Spirit to reach from the Heaven within us—the Kingdom of God within you and me—to the Earth of our surrounding circumstances.

Will this eventually “program” AI to see beauty and love and goodness over darkness and fear and division? Maybe, over time. Maybe not. Regardless, it will train our soul to see and experience what is of God, rather than the darkness that is in the world. And then, it won’t matter what is going on with anything else.

Blessings and Peace,
